University of Nottingham Review

(5)·By Taliya J·English Studies· Jun 2025
Since coming to university, I have felt so at home. From the staff to the students to the stunning campus, the community around me is welcoming and friendly. I am incredibly happy here and the support available is exceptional. You never feel alone, and there is always someone there to listen to any worries or difficulties you may be facing. As an autistic student, my tutors have been accommodating and exceptional in tailoring sessions to my needs and offering ways to make me feel more comfortable. The course is fulfilling and ranges from medieval literature to modern day literature, language, drama, creative writing, and more. Lectures are funny and engaging, and staff make an effort to get to know you by name. I feel like I belong here, and I cannot recommend this university enough.

Best Student Life in England

(5)·By Julia B·Psychology· Jun 2025
There’s not a minute where you will be bored at this university. Even though the lectures are challenging, they make the hour we spend with them interesting. My accommodation isn’t on campus, but it’s a beautiful modern building very close to the city centre and all the nightlife if that’s what you’re looking forward to. The only negative is that it is a bit of a commute, but if you enjoy walking it’s a 40-minute walk or a 10-minute tram journey right to the main campus!

Great all around, the only downfall has been the aesthetic of the campus.

Teacher Training

(5)·By Megan M·Education / Teacher Training· Jun 2024
NTU has allowed me to easily balance furthering my career while also studying. They have adjusted timetabling so that I can maintain my work commitments and complete additional university work alongside. This has been extremely helpful and will result in a promotion at work when the course is complete.

Uni of Nottingham Review

(5)·By Rishni S·Religious Studies· Jun 2024
What appealed to me initially about UoN, aside from being a Russell Group university with high employment rates, is its nightlife and support systems in place to provide an ideal university experience while still maintaining high levels of quality work. The lecturers are very involved and check in regularly, as well as tutors who are assigned to mental health, work, and general care. They take pride in their jobs and ability to teach, utilizing their experiences and knowledge to provide the best possible lectures for students. The university itself has many sources for mental health, such as well-being teams, events, and societies targeted to improve well-being. I believe this is important and usually neglected when making the big jump from year 13 to university!

Great university

On campus accommodation is great, although the food isn't the nicest it's such a fun sociable experience and having vistited other unis with self catered accommodations I wouldn't change mine. I find Nottingham to be the perfect size for students, lots of clubs and bars but not too big a city to get lost! I love it here and wouldn't change it at all!!
