Life at Exeter

(5)·By Johannes V·Geography· Jun 2026
Studying BA Geography at the University of Exeter has honestly been one of the best parts of my life so far. Living in halls made it incredibly easy to meet people, and by the end of the first week it felt like I knew everyone in my block. We would cook together, wander to lectures half-asleep in the mornings, and get ready for nights out at TP as if it was a weekly ritual. Campus itself is stunning, and you can walk from your accommodation to classes through beautiful greenery, with places like Reed Hall looking like something from a wedding venue brochure. It became our go-to spot for photos before balls and society events, and those moments always felt like big shared milestones. There are peaceful study spaces all over campus, so even the serious work feels calm rather than stressful. What makes Exeter special is how quickly the everyday things become the memories you value most, from kitchen chats and late-night walks back from town to planning outfits for socials and laughing about the day with people who start to feel like family. Exeter is not just a good university; it is the kind of place that quietly becomes home before you even realise it.

If you don’t go to Exeter, you’ve made the wrong choice. Clubs, beaches, Riggers, and Jubels—you can’t beat them. If you’re looking for a place to spend your parents’ money, Exeter is the university for you.

Exeter review

(5)·By Dylan R·Business· Jun 2026
In a nutshell, it’s brilliant. I came here to pursue a career in cricket, and the facilities and hospitality provided have been second to none. I’ve enjoyed the social aspect of university and every other opportunity they have to offer. Student life is brilliant; everybody is so easy to talk to. My course is very flexible, and I’m able to work around my busy cricket schedule. The commute is easy and always has been, with everything so close together. The only thing that could be better is having a bigger gym, apart from the ADC.

Exeter - Cornwall campus

(5)·By Amelia T·History· Jun 2024
I’m studying at the Cornwall campus. I love it down here, it’s quite a small place but I think that gives a more close-knit feel because you’re often bumping into people you know. There’s a great selection of societies down here, I would recommend the water-based ones since we are by the sea, of course. I like that we share a campus with Falmouth uni as it means you meet so many different people and also means you can take advantage of all of the arts societies and facilities down here too. Nights out in Falmouth are great, there are a few small clubs but I think the best nightlife is in some of the independent music venues down here, they have live music on basically every night and it’s a really chilled vibe. Transport between Falmouth and Penryn is good but not great to get to many other places in Cornwall, except for Truro.

All round unforgettable!

(5)·By Ivana I·History· Jun 2024
My academic experience at the university has been excellent. I have heard complaints from friends at other universities, so I feel fortunate to be at Exeter. The campus is beautiful, the facilities are great, the accommodation is lovely, and the history staff is knowledgeable.
