University of Chester

Student life is fantastic; I couldn’t ask for anything better, honestly. They have micro-celebrities and influencers from TikTok visiting the clubs regularly. The accommodation is stunning and clean. The university itself is great, with lots of greenery and clubs. The teachers are extremely good at what they do and are always there to help.

The University of Chester is very supportive, providing career meetings to help improve your CV. They offer work and volunteering opportunities, which have helped to enhance my experiences. There are many social aspects, from events to societies, and there is a wide variety to choose from.

The accommodation is amazing, the course is incredible, and the staff are lovely.

Originally from Romania, my parents and I moved to the UK to provide me with better career opportunities, and the University of Chester has definitely been helping me along this journey. I met my girlfriend at the start of my first year, and we are still together now. University has been the best experience of my life, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunities it is and will continue to give me.

My time at the University has been rewarding so far. The course (Art therapy) is thoughtfully structured and encourages both academic and personal growth. Tutors are approachable and supportive, and there are plenty of opportunities for reflective learning.

Commuting around Chester has been fairly easy, and the city itself has a peaceful and friendly atmosphere. Overall, it’s been a positive and nurturing experience.

As an international student, I was seeking a university that would feel like home and the University of Chester is very diverse and inclusive. The social events organized by the Chester Students Union have allowed me to interact with students from various walks of life. I have learned a lot about cultural differences in a positive way. The administration has also created various safe spaces and platforms for students struggling academically, mentally, or otherwise, allowing everyone to thrive during their time at the university. The fact that the accommodation facilities are mixed has enabled me to make friends with people from different backgrounds. This has prepared me for my academic practice placement, and I couldn't be more grateful for the arrangement.
I also love the fact that there is a department that allows students to get university jobs rather than jobs outside, making it easier to balance work and school.

The University of Chester is an absolutely brilliant institution that gives students not only a rounded and thorough academic experience but also a rich and vibrant, totally fun social experience too. There are loads of courses on offer, from Foundation levels through to Postgraduate, and each one is taught by highly motivated and really knowledgeable tutors. Outside of the academic departments is a whole range of academic and pastoral student support staff, each one dedicated to the well-being of all students and ensuring they achieve their best possible results. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Student life at Chester has been amazing, I love the city and exploring it. I especially love the facilities that the University has to offer. I spend lots of time in the amazing library where I can socialise and complete my assignments in a nice environment. As a media student, there are some great facilities on campus, for example, a studio and podcasting suite. I have found my lecturers to be very useful, and I feel that I am able to get help with any problems I may have.

As I come to the end of my time at UoC, I have been reflecting on my time here, and the memories are so positive that I am genuinely sad to be leaving! Living at UoC has felt like a home away from home; the accommodation I stayed in has been lovely, and everyone is so friendly :) My lecturers have always been willing to help with anything, so you never feel like you have to deal with something on your own. I couldn't recommend UoC enough, to be honest; studying here was definitely the best decision I made!

Currently I am a student at Chester University studying Children’s nursing. The staff have been amazing and so supportive, especially in our simulation environment. The university offers amazing simulation suites to simulate being out on practice with real patients. This includes realistic looking mannequins and hospital environment rooms! I think for future students, I would like to remind you to be confident and allow yourself time to learn the content. Nursing is a skill and takes time to develop, so allow yourself to make mistakes! It is a highly rewarding job that is respected and allows you to change people’s lives for the better. The university is very helpful in building up this confidence by allowing you to explore all options and practice skills like manual blood pressure with your friends. The university has been so supportive by offering numerous services for help, and every staff member knows where to direct you if you need assistance. I love studying at the University of Chester.
