University life

My university experience has been great so far, I have enjoyed interacting with new people I have met and befriended. Mostly my teachers they have helped me a lot during this period off time. The facilities that they have provided has also helped a lot and made everything easier to understand.

Education / Teacher Training, Year 3

(5)·By Georgia P·Education / Teacher Training· Jul 2021
Freshers week was an amazing opportunity to meet new people and to explore Bedford. The university were really good at informing us about the different events and the freshers fair was really welcoming! The accommodation at Bedford university is amazing with all the facilities a student would need. The rooms are hygienic and clean, and there's student reps around to help. The library is amazing with plenty of books, journals and computers. There are lots of classrooms that can be hired out for group work and the sports hall has a variety of different sports equipment. The course provides you with amazing opportunities and placements that help you to develop the necessary skills. The lectures are also extremely informative and helps to you understand the connection between theory and practice. Bedford town has a variety of shops, bars, clubs and pubs which is perfect for students. I love the atmosphere in the town as there's a buzz and us students enjoy this

Uni

Try and find the accommodation that is the most convenient for you. Don't try and please anyone and make sure that everything you do at uni for anyone else's sake. My course isn't too hard because all you have to do is a reading and practicing in order to understand the things being taught. Your social life will depend on your course but always make time for yourself and give a break every once in a while

Beautiful university, lots of student support when you need it. I have struggled to juggle school, work, and family life, but my

Overall, my experience of student life has been challenging but rewarding. The course is demanding, particularly alongside placements, work commitments, and personal responsibilities, but it is also very meaningful and prepares you well for real-world practice. The teaching staff are knowledgeable and supportive, and when support is accessed, it can make a real difference. Commuting can be tiring, especially with early starts for placement, and balancing academic work with travel and personal life is not always easy. Accommodation and facilities are generally good, though clearer communication and flexibility around placements and timetables would help students with caring or work responsibilities.

Love the course and the lecturers are amazing. Fewer days I need to go in and commuting is not bad. My classmates are really friendly too. Loving it. It is hard, though, of course.

Uni Experience

(4.5)·By Monica V·Nursing· Jun 2025
Uni life is great. We do 50% theory and 50% practical. We not only learn in class but also during placement, allowing us to apply what we learn and see it in person, which helps us better understand the course. Teachers are very helpful and provide us with support whenever we have problems with placement or at uni.
As for accommodation, the uni did not have one, but they were very helpful in assisting me in finding accommodation near the uni. With their help, I was able to find a nice landlord just in time before the term started.
