It can be a long commute, but it's absolutely worth it. The staff are great, and there is a lot to learn.

Askham Bryan College/University Centre

Good teachers and engaging lectures. The content of the Veterinary Nursing course is interesting. The small class size allows for more one-on-one interaction with students. The commute is easy because it is near a major train and bus station and has onsite parking. However, the smaller campus does not offer accommodation, so someone living further away would need to find private accommodation or their own student halls.

Animal Science, Year 3

(3.5)·By Grace L·Animal Science· Jul 2021
Very basic, not really anything very exciting going on for people who lived off site I don't like at uni but from what i have seen and heard it is very basic and not very luxury The facilities are really good and very up to date especially the animal kennels The lectures are mostly focused on our specific topic and the lecturers have a genuine interest in the subject The university is not in the city so it is difficult to travel in and makes it difficult with it not being on your doorstep

It is enjoyable, gives you the full uni experience without the full stress off uni.

I'm still here so that's a good point I guess! I'm loving the course canine and feline behaviour and training.

Some classes so drag and feel slow but I guess all courses have that.

Canteen is stupidly expensive so I don't use it but not an issue really as I just bring my own food.

Don't bother living in as it's too expensive and the rooms don't cater very well for people with hearing losses.

Vet nursing

The lesson allows for the development of new skills that can enhance knowledge for becoming a student RVN. I enjoy learning, even though it can be stressful and sometimes difficult, but I still manage to go in and do my best. Outside of university, I don’t have much of a social life as I focus on studying, which I struggle to do for long periods of time, but I still keep in contact with my friends. I have a laugh with my friends at uni, which makes it better to go, and I have nice and helpful teachers.

I feel that Askham Bryan is not the best of the best, I mean they're great but some of the tutors are awful and tend to favour students.
