Chemistry is often referred to as the 'central science'. It covers topics as diverse as quantum mechanics and the study of atomic particles, to the molecular nature of biological systems and the Human Genome Project.

This degree will give you a strong grounding in fundamental chemistry. You'll also develop specialist knowledge of chemistry for biology and medicine, from the use of powerful microscopes to investigate the causes of genetic disease, to exploring new treatments for cancer.

Essential Subjects: AAA offer - Chemistry at grade A is essential. AAB offer - Chemistry at grade A is essential, plus a second science A Level. We include: Biology, Computer Science, Electronics, Environmental Science, Further Mathematics, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology as a second science subject. Information: Applicants taking Science A Levels that include a practical component will be required to pass.

T Level

We are currently not accepting T Levels for this course unless an additional A Level (or equivalent qualification) in Chemistry has been taken.

We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. A Level in Chemistry at grade A is essential. We consider BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (2016 syllabus) with all 7 mandatory units plus all five Chemistry units 10,13,14,18,19.

OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma

We consider a range of OCR qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications. A Level in Chemistry (or equivalent qualification) at grade A is essential. We may also consider relevant units in your OCR Cambridge Technical as A Level Science equivalent.
