What to expect
Creative development: This is the core purpose of the course, preparing you to work professionally in a sound arts and design context.
Skills and knowledge: Develop key skills for employment within the sound arts and design context, including creative ideation, composition, technical expertise, workflow, production techniques and more.
Learning: Facilitated by expert staff with extensive industry experience, you'll learn in relatively intimate classes where tutors can provide flexible content that is relevant to your individual practice and goals. Some units will be specific to BA (Hons) Sound Arts: Design. You'll share others with BA (Hons) Sound Arts: Experimental Music, coming together at key moments in the course.
Public-facing opportunities: Built into the course are events and showcases to give you professional opportunities to enhance your CV.
Specialisation: The course structure helps you to tailor your development to gain skills and expertise in your chosen area of sound arts and design.
Industry experience and opportunities
External practitioners and other professionals will be guest speakers and facilitate collaborations and workshops. Many students participate in activities with creative organisations. In the past, these have included: IKLECTIK, Corsica Studios, Resonance FM, Gallery 46, Drake Music, The Economist and London Sinfonietta.
You’ll have the opportunity to undertake the Diploma in Professional Studies or the UAL Diploma in Creative Computing between Years 2 and 3 to enhance your learning experience and employability skills.
