You'll learn to support people in a wide range of social context. You will gain knowledge and experience in a wide range of areas, ready to work in practice contexts that support, among others:

* children and families

* older people

* adults experiencing disability, mental health challenges, or substance use issues.

Practice learning is central to this course. You’ll complete two high-quality placements through our connections with local employers, gaining hands-on experience in supportive settings.

At Sussex, you’ll be part of a close, well-supported learning community. Small group teaching means we get to know you, and you’ll be taught by qualified social workers, academics, practitioners and people with lived experience. You’ll also develop research skills and complete a dissertation on a topic that matters to you.
