On this hands-on course, we will introduce you to a range of tools so you can bring your ideas into reality. From week one you'll be working on making games in our brand-new games lab with state-of-the-art software and equipment.

What you will study\
The course focuses on game design and development, including narratives, environments, characters and mechanics. You will learn how to realise your game ideas using code and game engines in our state-of the art games lab. Students work on gameplay, interactions and playability, enhancing levels with spectacular visual effects and immersive soundscapes.
As one of the newest Games Design courses in the UK, we have been able to design the course to respond to and leverage the latest advances in:

Industry professionals visit the course to guest lecture and share their experiences.
We are also members of [The Independent Game Developers’ Association](https://tiga.org/) (TIGA), which is the main trade association for games in the UK. As members of TIGA, we aim to give graduates the skills they need to work in the UK’s £7-billion video games industry.

Extended Project
Applicants taking the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) will receive our standard A-level offer, plus an alternate offer of one A-level grade lower, subject to achieving an A grade in the EPQ. The one grade reduction will not apply to any required subjects. This grade reduction will not combine with other grade reduction policies, such as contextual admissions policy or In2Surrey.
