By undertaking a placement year, you’ll gain practical experience in a professional environment, helping you build skills, confidence, and industry connections.
Alongside your placement year, you can broaden your experience through optional study abroad opportunities at the university's campuses in China or Malaysia, or our partner universities. This course is also available as a standard three-year degree.

You can follow your interests and career aspirations by selecting from a wide range of optional modules alongside your core subjects.
By undertaking a Placement Year you will receive additional workshops in your first and second years, alongside professional advice from our dedicated Placements Team.
You will spend year three in industry applying your skills in real world business environments. You can apply for placements available to students on your course or can agree your own placement with an appropriate company.
During your placement year, you remain fully registered with the university, with regular meetings with our dedicated Placements Team.
Please note: In order to undertake an optional placement year, you will need to achieve the relevant academic requirements as set by the university and meet any requirements specified by the placement host. There is no guarantee that you will be able to undertake a placement as part of your course
