From day one, you’ll combine financial theory with practical data skills, learning Python, analysing industry datasets, and turning complex information into clear, actionable insights.
You’ll move from mastering the foundations of finance to exploring advanced areas such as data mining and machine learning, building both technical expertise and the adaptability, problem-solving and commercial awareness that employers demand.
With a curriculum that integrates finance and data analytics from the very start, support from state-of-the-art facilities, innovative teaching, and strong industry connections, this programme gives you the edge to succeed in competitive global markets.
In third year, you will complete a year-long graduate-level placement, providing valuable work experience and an opportunity to further enhance the skills and attributes sought after by top employers.
You can apply for placements with a large organisation or smaller company. You will be supported by university staff whilst on placement and complete related assessments in May.
We also have study abroad opportunities that you can apply for, including a summer or semester abroad.
This programme is available with either a Year in China or a Year Abroad. The Year in China offers undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one year at our joint venture, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). You can choose either the China Studies Track, where you will take courses from the China Studies Degree, the Creative Track, or the Entrepreneurship Track . XJTLU is a fully English-speaking university, located in Suzhou. The Year Abroad offers students the opportunity to spend a full academic year studying at one of our partner universities around the world, following a mixture of culture and/or discipline-related modules. If you wish to study this programme with a Year in China or a Year Abroad you will have the opportunity to apply after you arrive at Liverpool.

GCSE Mathematics at grade 6/B and GCSE English at grade 4/C required. Applicants with equivalent qualifications and applicants who do not meet the GCSE English requirements will be considered on an individual basis according to their circumstances.

Extended Project
Applicants who offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and 3 A levels and meet our offer criteria will be made the standard offer, plus an alternative offer. This will be at one A Level grade lower plus a grade A in the EPQ, for example the offer would be AAB or ABB plus A in the EPQ.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
34 points overall with no score less than 4 or Pass the IB diploma plus 6,6,5 in 3 HL subjects. International Baccalaureate Mathematical Studies is not accepted for any Management School programme in lieu of GCSE Mathematics, or Higher Level Mathematics where this is a requirement.
WJEC Level 3 Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales
