Covering all aspects of computer science, including the underlying principles and theory, this programme will ensure that when you graduate you will know what is and isn’t possible with computers and be able to find solutions to the problems you will encounter in your professional life.\
Computer Science with Software Development (G610) is for those wanting to specialise in development, updating and widespread application of complex software.
This programme is accredited by BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered IT Professional.
This programme is available with either a Year in China or a Year Abroad. The Year in China offers undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one year at our joint venture, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). You can choose either the China Studies Track, where you will take courses from the China Studies Degree, the Creative Track, or the Entrepreneurship Track . XJTLU is a fully English-speaking university, located in Suzhou. The Year Abroad offers students the opportunity to spend a full academic year studying at one of our partner universities around the world, following a mixture of culture and/or discipline-related modules. If you wish to study this programme with a Year in China or a Year Abroad you will have the opportunity to apply after you arrive at Liverpool.

A level
AAB including Mathematics or Computer Science. If A level Mathematics or Computer Science isn’t taken, we require GCSE Mathematics Grade B (6) or above and the applicant will be required to take the Indicative Maths test. For applicants studying A levels with English exam boards: Where a science has been taken at A level (Chemistry, Biology, Geology or Physics), a pass in the Science practical of each subject will be required. Some Level 3 qualifications are only acceptable alongside 2 or 3 A levels, please contact us for details.
T Level
Science or ICT T Level alongside A Level Mathematics or Computer Science only. Typical Offer would be Distinction overall, grade A in the Core Component and Merit in the Occupational Specialism Component.

Extended Project
Applicants who offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and 3 A Levels and meet our offer criteria will be made the standard offer, plus an alternative offer. This will be at one A Level grade lower plus a grade A in the EPQ, for example the offer would be AAB or ABB plus A in the EPQ.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
34 points overall with no score less than 4 and including 5 in Higher Level Mathematics or Computer Science, or pass the IB Diploma with 6,6,5 in three Higher Level subjects (including Higher Level Mathematics or Computer Science). If Higher Level Mathematics/Computer Science not taken, Standard Level Mathematics grade 6 or GCSE Mathematics grade B/6 required, and the applicant will be required to take the Indicative Maths test.
WJEC Level 3 Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales
B in the Welsh Baccalaureate, plus AA at A level (including Mathematics or Computer Science). Some Level 3 qualifications are only acceptable alongside 2 or 3 A levels, please contact us for details.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
D*DD in a relevant diploma and A level Mathematics or Computer Science grade B. If A Level Mathematics or Computer Science is not taken, D*D*D and GCSE Mathematics grade B/6 or above required, and the applicant will be required to take the Indicative Maths test. Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
Including H1 in Mathematics or Computer Science. We also require a minimum of H6 in Higher English or O3 in Ordinary English.
