A combined degree with Classical Studies (75%) provides a broad, coherent understanding of the cultures, histories and literatures of ancient Greece and Rome. It offers interdisciplinary engagement with literary texts, material and visual culture, archaeological data and theoretical approaches, developing your ability to evaluate ancient evidence critically, synthesise arguments, combine data, and situate the Classical world in its wider Mediterranean, Near Eastern and north African context. A combined degree with Classical Studies (75%) provides a broad, coherent understanding of the cultures, histories and literatures of ancient Greece and Rome. It offers interdisciplinary engagement with literary texts, material and visual culture, archaeological data and theoretical approaches, developing your ability to evaluate ancient evidence critically, synthesise arguments, combine data, and situate the Classical world in its wider Mediterranean, Near Eastern and north African context. A third-year capstone project gives you the opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills through independent research on a topic of your choice. Learning ancient languages is always encouraged, but not required in this programme.
Our Minor in Spanish enables you to attain proficiency by graduation through structured and immersive language training. You will develop advanced skills in writing, reading, speaking and listening in one of the world’s most important languages, widely spoken in Spain, across North, Central and South America, the Caribbean and extending into the United States. Spanish opens access to dynamic global regions and to rich literary, cinematic and intellectual traditions, alongside major social, cultural and historical debates. An optional Year Abroad in Spain, Latin America, or both, further strengthens fluency and intercultural competence, enhancing your career prospects worldwide.
Combined Degrees\
Most Combined Degrees allow you to adapt the weighting of each by 25% after the first year, helping you to keep your options open. Please note, however, students studying either a Business or Economics pathway in combination with another subject cannot increase from 25% to 50% or from 50% to 75% and it is not possible to transfer from a 50% to 75% Law. Extended Project
Applicants who offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and 3 A levels and meet our offer criteria will be made the standard offer, plus an alternative offer. This will be at one A Level grade lower plus a grade B in the EPQ, for example the offer would be BBB or BBC plus B in the EPQ.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
30 points overall with no score less than 4 or pass the IB Diploma plus 5,5,5 in 3 HL subjects.
WJEC Level 3 Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales
