It offers interdisciplinary engagement with literary texts, material and visual culture, archaeological data and theoretical approaches, developing your ability to evaluate ancient evidence critically, synthesise arguments, combine data, and situate the Classical world in its wider Mediterranean, Near Eastern and north African context. Learning ancient languages is always encouraged, but not required in this programme.
Our Minor in Spanish enables you to attain proficiency by graduation through structured and immersive language training. You will develop advanced skills in writing, reading, speaking and listening in one of the world’s most important languages, widely spoken in Spain, across North, Central and South America, the Caribbean and extending into the United States. Spanish opens access to dynamic global regions and to rich literary, cinematic and intellectual traditions, alongside major social, cultural and historical debates. An optional Year Abroad in Spain, Latin America, or both, further strengthens fluency and intercultural competence, enhancing your career prospects worldwide.
