The Architectural Engineering degree is a multidisciplinary degree, encompassing civil engineering and architecture. The Architectural Engineering degree is a multidisciplinary degree, encompassing civil engineering and architecture. It is jointly delivered by the School of Engineering and the School of Architecture. The degree programme will provide you with a multidisciplinary skill set to design building structures, bridges and critical infrastructure incorporating both the solid technical grounding that a typical civil/structural engineering degree provides alongside a robust and wider appreciation of the architectural, societal, economic and environmental aspects associated to a particular design solution.
This programme is available with either a Year in China or a Year Abroad. The Year in China offers undergraduate students the opportunity to spend one year at our joint venture, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). You can choose either the China Studies Track, where you will take courses from the China Studies Degree, the Creative Track, or the Entrepreneurship Track . XJTLU is a fully English-speaking university, located in Suzhou. The Year Abroad offers students the opportunity to spend a full academic year studying at one of our partner universities around the world, following a mixture of culture and/or discipline-related modules. If you wish to study this programme with a Year in China or a Year Abroad you will have the opportunity to apply after you arrive at Liverpool.

Including Mathematics For applicants studying A levels with English exam boards: Where a science has been taken at A level (Chemistry, Biology, Geology or Physics), a pass in the Science practical of each subject will be required. Science T Level or Engineering T Level considered with A level Mathematics. Typical offer would be Distinction overall, with a grade A in the Core Component and a Merit in the Specialism Component.

Pass Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject with 45 Level 3 credits, with 36 at Distinction (including 15 Level 3 in Mathematics credits) and 9 at Merit.
GCSE/National 4/National 5
GCSE Mathematics and English at grade 4/C required. Applicants with equivalent qualifications or who do not meet these GCSE requirements will be considered on an individual basis according to their circumstances.

Extended Project
Applicants who offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and 3 A levels and meet our offer criteria will be made the standard offer, plus an alternative offer. This will be at one A Level grade lower plus a grade A in the EPQ, for example the offer would be AAB or ABB plus A in the EPQ.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
34 points overall with no score less than 4 and including 5 in HL Mathematics, or pass the IB Diploma with 6,6,5 in 3 Higher Level subjects, including 5 in HL Mathematics.
WJEC Level 3 Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales
B in the Welsh Baccalaureate, plus AA at A level including Mathematics. Some Level 3 qualifications are only acceptable alongside 2 or 3 A levels, please contact us for details.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
D*DD in acceptable BTEC, plus B in A level Mathematics (not accepted without B in A level Mathematics) Accepted BTECs include Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics and Engineering. Some Level 3 qualifications are only acceptable alongside 2 or 3 A levels, please contact us for details.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
H1,H1,H2,H2,H2,H3, including H2 in Mathematics. We also require a minimum of H6 in Higher English or O3 in Ordinary English.
