How do globally-minded leaders develop agility and resilience, as well as the confidence, skills and knowledge to make a distinct and positive contribution in the world? This course will provide you with key insights into these questions with an emphasis on data-driven content to prepare you for your future as an inspiring manager.
At the School of Business our courses offer a comprehensive insight into a broad range of subjects including business management, marketing, human resource management, business ethics and innovation. We are driven by a commitment to asking challenging questions and to engaged, creative and socially responsible approaches to business, management and economics.
Our degrees provide opportunities for personal and professional development and will give you the skills to overcome contemporary managerial challenges with innovative and analytical decision-making.
The Business and Management BSc is particularly designed for future leaders who want more than surface-level knowledge and skills. This course offers a sharper, data-driven understanding on how organisations function in fast-changing AI-enabled environments. With a strong emphasis on quantitative analysis, you will explore how numbers tell stories, drive decisions and reveal future opportunities and challenges. You will learn to steer through business complexity using critical thinking, strategic modelling and the digital fluency, which are now key to organisational success.
Ranging from AI-powered insights to people analytics and business intelligence, this course challenges you to think beyond theory and apply analytical frameworks to real-world problems. Whether you curious about how start-ups move from concept to execution and then traction, how data visualisation informs C-suite decision makings or how entrepreneurs build future-proofed business models, this programme gives you the right tools and mindset to excel in a competitive business environment driven by disruption and innovation.
Our courses will provide you with an in-depth understanding of contemporary business and management techniques and will allow you to develop the skills to become an effective and socially responsible manager in local or public arenas, whether in public, private or socially run third sector organisations and enterprises.
The first year of our Business and Management BSc is shared with:

This means that you have the flexibility to switch to any of these courses at the end of your first year.
### What is the difference between a BSc and BA Business and Management?
Both our Business and Management courses offer a strong foundation in core business and managerial functions such as strategic decision-making, sustainable practices, managing people technologies and organisational design as well as the broader societal implications of business and management. The BSc course offers a stronger emphasis on mathematical and data-driven content, design to appeal to you if you have more quantitative interests as well as specialist modules which will equip you with practical skills in data interpretation and quantitative analysis.
The BSc course is especially suited to you if you are looking for more technical, analytical careers such as business analyst roles, data strategy or roles within the growing field of market intelligence.
