Our Humanities Foundation Year is an intensive and exciting year of study. Focusing on areas such as the creative industries and video production, you'll create a toolkit of essential academic skills.
We’ll support you to work towards your own learning goals in an encouraging, rewarding environment. You'll study with dedicated lecturers from UEA’s Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities. Alongside Film and Media, you’ll explore a range of related academic subjects, to help you to understand important political, cultural and historical contexts. We’ll help you make connections between different disciplines to spark your curiosity.
On your BA Film and Television Studies with a Foundation Year course, you’ll have access to all the opportunities and resources that UEA and Norwich have to offer. This includes our brilliant in-house media facilities, incorporating a television studio, so you can hone your practical communication skills.
As you develop your own academic interests and passions, you’ll then be well-placed to progress onto the degree that’s the best fit for you. After successfully completing your foundation year, you’ll move straight onto the BA Film and Television Studies degree. Alternatively, you can request to transfer to another undergraduate course within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, subject to taking the required prerequisite modules. Use the foundation year to springboard onto the degree of your choice and take control of your future studies.
