This is a four year programme that will allow you to qualify in two fields of nursing. Your first field will be learning disability nursing; your second will be childrens nursing The aim of learning disability nursing is to place the service user at the centre of all decision making, therefore, teaching methods involve the inclusion of service users and carers in classroom settings and practice placements. The work of a children’s nurse can range from caring for a sick newborn baby to caring for a teenager with complex physical or psychological needs. The course will empower you to become a flexible practitioner; clinically adept, caring and willing to accept responsibility for the care of children, young people and their families.
