Studying Education and Psychology will give you expert scientific training in how the mind, brain, and behaviour work together.
You will explore the psychological and neuroscientific processes that underpin thinking, reasoning, memory, and language. You will also examine the effects of brain injury and investigate evidence based ways to improve health related behaviour. Studying Education and Psychology will give you expert scientific training in how the mind, brain, and behaviour work together.
You will explore the psychological and neuroscientific processes that underpin thinking, reasoning, memory, and language. You will also examine the effects of brain injury and investigate evidence based ways to improve health related behaviour. Alongside this, our degree offers the opportunity to study a wide range of education focused topics, including education policy, teaching and learning, wellbeing, child development, additional learning needs, equality and social justice, and digital education.
Throughout the course, you will develop excellent research, writing, and critical analysis skills, as well as strong numeracy and ICT abilities.
As part of this programme, you will spend a year abroad between your second and final year, broadening your skills and experience. You will have the opportunity to undertake work placements in organisations such as schools, local authorities, businesses, and charities to enhance your student experience and your career prospects. You will need an additional Initial Teacher Education (ITE) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) qualification to become a teacher.
