Course Overview - Animal Care Higher National Certificate - HNC
Throughout the course you will develop an understanding and knowledge of the husbandry, housing care and welfare needs of animals, and gain the skills required to undertake a supervisory level job related to the animal care industry. Moreover, this course will provide you with the confidence and ability to be able to work with others in the industry and provide the highest standards of care and welfare for the animals that they may be responsible for. Upon successful completion of this course, students can apply to join year 2 of the HND Animal Care course.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
To include two from science subject, Maths or English. English, Maths and a science subject are required from JCPA. Plus a minimum of 1 week of work experience in the industry.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
Applicants with relevant Extended Diplomas are considered on an individual basis.
T Level
Applicants with relevant T Levels are considered on an individual basis.
GCSE/National 4/National 5
National 5 (A-C) in English, Maths and Biology/ GCSE level (A*/9-C/4) in English, Maths and a science subject.
Not accepted
Scottish National Certificate
