A level
Normally A-level French grade B or AS-level French grade B or GCSE French grade B or GCSE grade B/6 in another modern language (not GCSE English Language). GCSE Mathematics grade B/6. A-level General Studies and Critical Thinking are normally excluded from offers. However, the grade achieved may be taken into account when results are published in August and may be used in a tie-break situation. Note: if the language is studied at a higher level then the grade required at that level must be achieved.

Separate targets are shown for Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers but offers are normally made on the basis of a combination of the two. National 5 Mathematics grade B or GCSE Mathematics grade B/6 or equivalent.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
Successful completion of IB with a total of 33 points including 6, 6, 5 (French) in Higher Level subjects. If not offered at Higher Level then Standard Level grade 5 in Mathematics or GCSE Mathematics grade B/6.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
Successful completion of BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (1080 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) at Level 3) with overall grades D*DD. NB Language requirements must also be satisfied - please see A-level entry requirements. GCSE Mathematics grade B/6.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)
Higher level French grade H3 or Ordinary level grade 03. If Mathematics is not taken at the Higher Level - Ordinary Level grade 03 is required.
