Electrical and Electronic Engineering HND

**This two-year full-time Higher National Diploma course will give you the skills and knowledge needed to progress your career in the fascinating, challenging world of electrical and electronic engineering.**<br/><br/>**About the course**<br/><br/>Electrical engineers are sought after worldwide across the private and public sector, from transport to healthcare, and education to construction.<br/><br/>We’ll develop your knowledge across a range of core and more specialist units. The course will suit you if you’ve completed relevant studies at an advanced level (A Level or equivalent) or have relevant industry experience and want to pursue a career in electrical and/or electronic engineering.<br/><br/>The course contains significant project-based learning including: laboratory investigations, design work, projects, case studies and tutorials.<br/><br/>You’ll undertake independent study and practical problem-solving alongside more traditional methods such as tutorials. You will develop your communication skills and the application of computers in engineering.<br/><br/>**HNC (first year) core units include:**<br/><br/>-engineering science<br/>-electrical and electronic principles<br/>-managing a professional engineering project<br/>-engineering mathematics<br/>-engineering design<br/><br/>**HND (second year) core units include:**<br/><br/>-industrial power, electronics and storage<br/>-research project<br/>-professional engineering management<br/>-further mathematics<br/>-industrial systems<br/><br/>**Assessment**<br/><br/>Assessment is through assignments.<br/><br/>**Bursaries**<br/><br/>We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed. Please check our website - www.nottinghamcollege.ac.uk - for more information.<br/><br/>**Your career and progression**<br/><br/>The HNC/HND qualification is widely-recognized in its own right and provides students with the skills required for employment in a broad range of industries with either a managerial or technical bias. <br/><br/>After successfully completing the Higher National Certificate, you could top-up your qualification to the Higher National Diploma at Nottingham College, or progress to a degree at a wide range of higher education providers.<br/><br/>Alternatively, you could pursue a career in research and development, design, technical sales and production.
