You can choose to do short term internships in choice public, private and voluntary organisations such as government departments, banks, risk and insurance sectors, investment and broking firms, retail and manufacturing firms, start-ups and charities among many others.<br/><br/>This degree will equip you with key skills in economics, including data analysis, group presentation and discussion, writing and report preparation. Its been designed for students who are interested in starting up their own businesses, be involved in running and managing businesses or becoming financial and/or economic analysts. Students gain a working knowledge of both theoretical and empirical methods that can be applied to the industry and world context.<br/><br/>You will learn about the following during your studies:<br/>Individual and firm behaviour under uncertainty<br/>Price determinism and discrimination<br/>Game theory and oligopolistic pricing using game theory<br/>World financial markets<br/>Regulators and financial instruments<br/>Securities analysis and investment<br/>Econometrics and sampling techniques<br/>Risk and probability distributions<br/>Youll also develop a robust ability to use Excel, Stata and other statistical software, interpret financial data and write business reports.<br/><br/>Our Economics Department has strong expertise in fields of behavioural and experimental economics as well as econometrics. These are all important in helping to apply economics theory and knowledge to business practice.
