Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy Bachelor of Science (with Honours) - BSc (Hons)

Counselling and psychotherapy are terms for a wide variety of evidence-based talking and listening approaches that apply established theories to promote psychological change. This course provides you with the potential to pursue careers in mental health and the helping professions, where confident communication, strong interpersonal skills and teamwork are required.

Our course also covers all core elements of psychological study as required by the British Psychological Society (BPS), from lifespan development and research methods to social, biological, and cognitive psychology.

Each year, alongside the main discipline of psychology, you will study specialist modules in counselling and psychotherapy, where you will develop your academic knowledge and practical skills of therapeutic psychology.

The course covers 90 hours of practical counselling skills and personal and professional development, enabling you to pursue professional qualifications after the degree.

This course is accredited by the British Psychology Society (BPS). Successful completion provides students with Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC).
