Our Industrial Design BA (Hons) will equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to develop future facing products through embracing creative exploration and independent judgement.
Designed for students who are already confident in their career trajectory towards becoming an Industrial Designer, this is a great option for those who want to develop specialist skills and sensitivity in the creative form and aesthetics of contemporary and future manufactured products.
The course embraces creative exploration and the use of a wide range of skills and technologies within design practice. It covers creative ideation, form development and product styling, usability and interaction, sustainability, ergonomics and human factors, through the production and use of prototypes as a part of the design process.
BA Industrial Design first year focuses on building core design skills and competencies in design research, ideation model making and CAD. The second year prepares students for placement and industry practice including modules in designing for manufacturing, prototyping, industrial design projects and generating a professional portfolio.
