Scottish Higher

Must be a combination of three Scottish Highers and two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.

Access to HE Diploma

offer-distinction: 33.0, offer-merit: 12.0, offer-pass: 0.0

Applicants must either offer an academic qualification equivalent to A-Level grade B in French for standard pathway, or, take the DELF or DALF (minimum DELF B2). No French required for the Ab Initio pathway. The Access to Higher Education Diploma must be 60 credits in total.

Scottish Advanced Higher

Must include grade B in Advanced Higher French. Applicants for the Ab Initio pathway do not need French. Must be combined with three Scottish Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

35 points overall or an aggregate score of 17 from three Higher Levels. Must include grade 5 in Higher Level French for the standard pathway. There is no required subject for the Ab Initio pathway. The total point score of 35 includes TOK/EE.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

Must include French for standard pathway. Alternatively, if you meet these grade requirements, but do not have academic study of French, the DELF or DALF will be accepted as evidence of proficiency in French (minimum DELF B2). No French required for Ab Initio pathway.

Leaving Certificate - Ordinary Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017)

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal

Must include French at grade M2 for standard pathway. No French required for Ab Initio pathway. Please note that Global Perspectives is not accepted by King’s as one of your Pre-U Principal subjects. Combinations of Pre-U principal subjects and other qualifications (such as A-levels) will be considered.
