What do I need to study Business?

A passion for the subject that you happen to be studying is always helpful, but more than that, you need to have a real interest in it. With Business, the main draw for people is because they are either aiming high in a big business to have a more adjusted role or because people are looking to start their own business.

There won’t be too much that you’ll need specifically as there are so many different ways to study Business. Also, the reason is very important for studying Business. If you know what you want from a Business degree, you’re likely to get a lot more out of it than if you are going in blind.

But that too can have its advantages, as you may not know what you want and a Business degree could be the catalyst in providing you with the answers you’re looking for with what to do with your life.

If you’re focusing more on management, then you will need to look at Mathematics as a subject; this is also quite useful in general, especially when you have to start learning about financial markets or learning how to read a balance sheet.

How much reading is involved?

According to students studying Business, there isn’t too much by way of reading. It’s almost impossible to know for sure as not only do different universities offer different aspects of the course; there will also be different textbooks for different areas.

How difficult is it to study Business?

The coursework involved in a Business degree is fairly minimal. That’s not to say that there isn’t its fair share of coursework every so often; however, the main focus is really on it’s exams and what you learn on your course. The coursework and workload will vary depending on the university that you happen to be studying at too, as the different curriculums will dictate more or less coursework than other universities. The coursework you will have will be important too, but we recommend that while you should still prepare for coursework, that you do a lot of practice exams and that you focus more on the examination side of things rather than anything else.

How much does it cost to study Business?

It’s almost impossible to get the exact costing of an undergraduate Business degree as costings really do tend to vary depending on the university that you happen to be studying at, however, an estimated £8,500 – £12,000 tuition fee undergraduate degree is a fair estimate. Prices can be either side of those prices depending on the university and the tier of the degree that you do. What’s my job likelihood after studying Business?

The likelihood of a job at the end of a degree is difficult for everyone, however with a Business degree, you’re a little more likely to get a job.
